SPIM Study Groups
A Study Group (SG) is formed by SPIM members who share a common research interest in a specific topic or field recognised by the Society. Study Groups are approved for a three-year term, which may be renewed for additional three-year periods following approval by a simple majority at the SPIM General Assembly. A subsequent internal election is then held to appoint the group’s coordination team.
Non-members of SPIM may participate in Study Group activities; however, if their participation becomes regular, they are encouraged to become members of the Society.
At present, there is one active Study Group on Music Theory, Analysis, and Sound, coordinated by José Oliveira Martins and Benoît Gibson.
For further information on the creation, organisation, and activities of a Study Group, please refer to the regulations approved at the SPIM/EnIM General Assembly on 29 September 2023.
