About EnIM

The Encontro de Investigação em Música (EnIM) aims to offer professionals and all those interested in the various fields of music studies a broad, thematically diverse, and methodologically up-to-date overview of the research being carried out in this domain in Portugal. The conference is also open to participants from other countries.

To date, thirteen meetings have been held in partnership with institutions from different regions of Portugal: in 2011, at the Casa da Música in Porto; in 2012, in Castelo Branco, in collaboration with the School of Applied Arts of the Polytechnic Institute of Castelo Branco; in 2013, in Cascais, with the support of the Museum of the Presidency of the Republic and the Cascais City Council; in 2014, at the National Library of Portugal in Lisbon; in 2015, in Évora, in partnership with the Department of Music of the University of Évora; in 2016, in Aveiro, in collaboration with the Music Programme of the Department of Communication and Art of the University of Aveiro; in 2017, in Braga, in partnership with the Institute of Education of the University of Minho; in 2018, in Porto, in partnership with the School of Education / School of Music and Performing Arts; in 2019, in Lisbon, in collaboration with the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences of NOVA University Lisbon; in 2020–21, online; in 2022, in Aveiro, again in partnership with the Department of Communication and Art; in 2023, in Mafra, in collaboration with the National Museum of Music and with the support of the Mafra City Council; and in 2024, in Faro, in partnership with the Regional Conservatoire of the Algarve “Maria Campina.”
